Los actores siguen estando, siguen actuando. Otros, no.
Como en todo encuentro en el que las partes se desconocen y se lleva la idea de imponer y conquistar, el conflicto es inevitable, más aún en un estadio de la humanidad caracterizado por profundos aspectos oscuros como, por ejemplo, la inquisición para unos y las guerrillas interétnicas en otros.
En ambos grupos la sorpresa debió ser abismal y sobrecogedora. Pero la cruz, el obús y el acero, al final, dictaron la pauta y sentenciaron a un “vencedor”.
Sin embargo, no todo pudo ser conquistado ni aniquilado; fue permeado, de alguna manera, afectado o transformado mas no exterminado.
En la “Venezuela profunda” (calificativo cuya autoría pertenece al Dr Pedro Cunil Grau ), en las selvas, en los ríos y caños, el tiempo y el espacio absorbieron aquellos momentos difíciles y el silencio de estos parajes solo es interrumpido, hoy día, por la ventisca que mece la fronda, por las aves que lanzan libres su canto, por el trueno profundo de las bandas de monos araguatos ( monos aulladores) Sus moradores van con el tiempo. Un tiempo vivo y fluido que los cobija.
Ellos nos han mostrado mucho de lo que son aun guardan íntimos aspectos de su cultura.
Los hemos visto, los hemos estudiado, y es necesario decirlo; también ellos a nosotros.
La pregunta es ¿Qué hemos aprendido? ¿Ha sido un intercambio diáfano de saberes? ¿O es que estudiarlos sólo fue para alimentar el ego y engrosar textos dirigidos exclusivamente a quienes se interesan por el tema?
Lo cierto es que la “modernidad y lo civilizatorio” no han logrado empañar el brillo que contienen estas culturas aun teniendo, como seres humanos, su lado oscuro. No es sana la fanática idealización. En estos parajes aún se transita y se vive como se hacía miles de años atrás, alejados del estrés de las urbes, de su bullicio de su caos. Aun los ríos son los hilos que los comunican y las fuentes de su sustento.
Acá podemos ver gente con vidas “sencillas” cuyo pivote no es acumular por acumular el tener por aparentar ser. Son gente que interpreta eficientemente su espacio y que, plenamente adaptados a este, lo han ocupado sin hacerse sin hacerse patentes por su potencial de destruir.
Ríos de Suramérica siente pasión por vivenciar estas culturas. No solo visitarlos sino experimentar su modo de vida.
Creemos firmemente en que se debe preservar su cultura sin negarles su posibilidad de evolucionar.
Pensamos que su sostenibilidad, su proyección hacia el futuro, en un mundo más tecnificado y menos humanista, esta e relación directa a la preservación de sus valores culturales.
Y, por otro lado, un mundo con diversidad cultural es clave para la supervivencia de la especie humana.
La oportunidad de vivenciar su estilo de vida es algo valioso que luego de reflexionado, nos otorga pautas reales para evaluarlos y evaluarnos, no desde el juicio de valor ni desde la dicotomía de bueno o malo.
Por el contrario, esta evaluación es la oportunidad de vernos en aquellos que no somos, que ellos se vean en nosotros con profunda tolerancia y respeto.
Podemos aprender y podemos enseñar dentro de un marco de respeto, empatía y de intercambio de saberes.
Necesario es preservar, a toda costa, la biodiversidad de estos espacios. Esto es preciso y vital para todos.
Fauna, flora, aguas y suelos han de ser lo más racionalmente abordados a fin de mantener la funcionalidad de estos ecosistemas, tanto en su dinámica interna como en su interrelación con otros espacios.
Es por lo anteriormente expuesto y por otras no escritas que Ríos de Suramérica, como iniciativa toma un camino que nos regresa a las raíces.
No será fácil, pero sentimos que nos dará una oportunidad invaluable de aprender bajo el precepto de la empatía.
Tendremos que realizar algunos cambios, muchos esfuerzos, pero creemos en el camino a tomar.
Estamos preparando una nueva jornada.

Others do not. As in any encounter in which the parties are unknown and the idea of imposing and conquer takes, conflict is inevitable, even in a stage of humanity characterized by deep dark aspects such as the Inquisition for some and the interethnic guerrillas in others.
In both groups the surprise must have been abysmal and overwhelming. But the cross, the howitzer and steel, in the end, dictated the pattern and sentenced to a "winner".
However, not all could be captured or annihilated. It was permeate somehow affected or transformed but not exterminated.
In the "deep Venezuela" (adjective whose authorship belongs to Dr. Pedro Cunil Grau), in the jungles, rivers and streams, time and space absorbed those difficult moments and silence of these places is only interrupted today by the blizzard that rocks the frond, by throwing birds free their song, by the deep thunder of howler monkeys bands (howler monkeys called Araguatos).
Its inhabitants are over time. A lively and fluid blanket that time.
They showed us a lot but still have intimate aspects of their cultures.
We have seen them, we have studied them and, it must be said: they also us.
The question is: what we have learned ?, has been an open exchange of knowledge or study for the study as food for the ego and the thickness of texts whose scope does not project beyond versed people in the subject ?.
The truth is that "modernity and civilization" have failed to tarnish the shine containing these cultures still have, as human beings, its dark side. It is not healthy fanatical idealization.
In these places it is still travels and lived as they did thousands of years ago, far from the stress of the cities, its bustle, its chaos. Even the rivers are the threads that communicate and sources of their livelihood.
Here we can see people with "simple" lives whose pivot is not accumulating to accumulate or having to pretend to be. They are people who interprets its space efficiently and fully adapted to this, they have occupied without getting patents for their potential to destroy.
Rios South America is passionate about experiencing these cultures. Not only visit but to experience their way of life.
We firmly believe that should preserve their culture without denying its ability to evolve.
We think its sustainability, its projection into the future, in a more technological and less humanistic world, is directly related to the preservation of their cultural values.
And on the other hand, a world of cultural diversity is key to the survival of the human species.
The opportunity to experience their lifestyle is something valuable that, after reflection, gives us real guidelines to assess and evaluate ourselves, not from the value judgment nor from the dichotomy of good or bad.
On the contrary, this assessment is the opportunity to see those who are not, they look at us with deep tolerance and respect.
We can learn and we can teach within a framework of respect, empathy and knowledge sharing.
It is necessary to preserve at all costs, the biodiversity of these spaces. This is necessary and vital for everyone.
Wildlifea, soils and water must be as rational addressed in order to maintain the functionality of these ecosystems, both in its internal dynamics and its interrelationship with other spaces.
It is for the above and other unwritten, Rios of South America as an envirommental, ethnologic and self searching initiative takes a path that brings us back to the roots.
It will not be easy but we feel will give us an invaluable opportunity to learn under the precept of empathy.
We'll have to make some changes, many efforts, but we believe the way to go.
We are preparing a new journey.
